Reconnect to the past. Preserve it for the future.

Contribute remedies, rituals, recipes, traditions, and stories to keep them alive for generations to come.

Homesick for a time and place I’ve never lived

The Elder Archives was born from a longing.

A longing to reconnect with the wisdom of my ancestors and to carry it forward. As a daughter of the diaspora, I know what it feels like to be separated from ancestral lands and traditions, and to search for the practices that once rooted our families in balance, health, and belonging.

This project is my way of weaving those threads back together. It is intended to be a living archive: a place where remedies, rituals, recipes, proverbs, and everyday practices can be gathered and kept alive.

By preserving these stories in the voices of elders themselves, we honor the knowledge they have carried across generations and ensure that it is not lost to time.

The Elder Archives is not just my journey, but a collective one. It belongs to everyone who shares a piece of their heritage here. Whether through video, photos, handwritten notes, or spoken words, each submission becomes a thread that strengthens the rope tying us back to our ancestors and to one another.

Together, we are building more than an archive. We are building a circle that reconnects us to the past and preserves it for the future.
